Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an AI Engineer 3 to design, develop, and operate an enterprise AI platform that powers intelligent applications across the organization. This role focuses on building scalable, secure backend AI services, reusable AI capabilities, and platform APIs that development teams integrate into their solutions.

The ideal candidate has experience building cloud-native backend services, production AI systems, and expertise with MCP, RAG, and enterprise LLM platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years building production AI services or AI platforms.
• Experience with Docker and cloud-native container platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy reusable AI platform services and backend APIs.
• Build scalable backend services for enterprise AI capabilities.
• Integrate AI platform services with data platforms and cloud infra.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and guidance.
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance.
