Job summary

Expedia Group in Austin, TX is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer III to own the design, engineering, and evolution of our cloud infrastructure and enterprise AI systems. You’ll lead service and integration architectures, drive IaC and automation, and mentor engineers while delivering reusable patterns, policy-as-code, and scalable guardrails across security, data, and governance teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in infra/platform engineering, strong cloud, Python/Go, and AI/ML literacy

Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure, platform, or enterprise systems engineering (or 3+ years with a Master's).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field; technical degree preferred.
• Experience owning end-to-end initiatives with broad stakeholder coordination across platform, security, and business teams.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud IaaS (AWS/Azure/GCP) and IaC automation.
• Proficiency in Python or Go and building automation to reduce toil and forecast capacity.

Responsibilities

• Own service and integration architecture for AI platforms and enterprise systems.
• Design reusable IaC modules and automation frameworks; enforce policy-as-code.
• Lead incident resolution, RCA, and post-incident analysis with automation-driven improvements.
• Design integration architectures connecting internal platforms and enterprise SaaS systems.
• Define SLOs and engineer observability with telemetry, tests, and alerting.
