Job summary

Boundless Immigration is hiring a Principal Architect to lead a transformation of our software platform and engineering infrastructure. You will own the end-to-end architecture, including services, APIs, data modeling, and multi-tenancy, while shaping the AI layer and agent infrastructure for scalable legal workflows.

We value leaders who ship with autonomy, have production AI experience, and can balance speed with rigorous accuracy in a regulated domain.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in engineering with principal/staff/architect-level experience
• Ability to hold platform, AI layer, data infra and business constraints in mind
• Experience shipping AI into production and handling retrieval, evaluation, latency, and failures

Responsibilities

• Own the platform architecture end to end: service boundaries, API design, multi-tenancy, data modeling
• Design the AI layer and how LLMs connect to case data and tools
• Build and own foundational agent infrastructure for deployment, monitoring, and management
• Define how context is structured and managed across sessions and domain knowledge
• Build agents for legal tasks, communications, data hygiene, payments, and case lifecycle
• Define data movement from transactional systems to warehouse and tools used daily
• Transform engineering infrastructure into a software factory and overhaul processes
• Be the senior technical voice in design reviews and ADRs, documenting decisions
• Mentor engineers on architectural thinking and provide direct feedback
