Job summary

Ares Management Corporation is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead the design and delivery of our enterprise AI platform on Databricks for Azure, ensuring MNPI controls and governance while partnering with AI Product Management, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders.

This hands-on leadership role requires building scalable pipelines, mastering LLM orchestration, model registries, and observability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software or data engineering
• 4+ years in ML/AI platform engineering or LLM apps
• Hands-on with Databricks on Azure
• Experience building RAG pipelines

Responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise generative AI platform on Databricks on Azure
• Architect multi-LLM gateway with routing and cost tracking
• Develop hybrid RAG retrieval services and agent orchestration
• Implement model registry, prompt library, and A2A workflows
• Establish sandbox‑to‑production deployment pipelines
