Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking a high-impact Principal AI Engineering Architect to define AI-first architectures, secure platforms, and reusable patterns across the organization and its affiliates. This senior role requires translating complex business needs into practical AI-enabled solutions with strong governance and security considerations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive technology experience across software engineering, architecture, platform engineering, cloud, data, integration, automation, AI, or enterprise technology delivery.
• 5+ years of experience with AI, machine learning, automation, advanced analytics, or emerging technology capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture patterns and technical standards for AI-enabled applications, copilots, intelligent workflows, automation agents, enterprise knowledge solutions, and reusable AI components.
• Translate business and technology use cases into scalable solution architectures with data flows and security controls.
• Guide reviews, decisions, and production readiness across AI platforms and engineering teams.
• Design reusable platform patterns for model access, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, and semantic search.
• Ensure AI platform patterns are secure, observable, and compliant with enterprise standards.
• Bridge business needs to practical AI architectures for underwriting, claims, operations, and customer service.
