Job summary
Walmart Inc. is seeking a Distinguished Software Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered systems within the Marketplace Tech team in Sunnyvale.
You will ensure architectural integrity, drive operational excellence, and mentor engineers across teams. You will champion DevOps/CI/CD, translate strategy into system-level implementations, and collaborate with product and business units to deliver measurable impact through innovation and robust, observable
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field with 6 years of software engineering experience or 8 years total experience.
- Preferred: Master's degree in computer science or related area and 4 years of software engineering experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered software systems.
- Translate domain strategies into system-level implementations with architectural integrity.
- Champion DevOps and CI/CD with observable, performant services and robust monitoring.
- Provide code reviews and architectural guidance to improve quality and reliability.
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across teams.
- Identify bottlenecks and drive automation to boost velocity and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
