Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Engineer to own major portions of the technical operating load for workplace AI, including platform configuration, integrations, and observability. You will also translate production realities into governance artifacts and risk views, while acting as a hands‑on technical responder for incidents.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform engineering, DevOps/SRE, ML/AI ops with production responsibility.
• Fluent with APIs, integrations, and infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
• Hands‑on with monitoring, logs, metrics, and alerts for production systems.
• Experience with at least one AI/automation platform (LLM providers, RPA, etc.).
• Secure secrets management and least‑privilege practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain AI platform configurations.
• Own day-to-day configuration of AI platforms and orchestration tools.
• Manage connectors, integrations, and data access paths.
• Design and maintain connectors into SaaS systems and data sources.
• Own observability wiring for AI tools with logging and alerts.
• Handle secrets and access hygiene; rotate keys and manage access.
• Execute model and configuration changes in production with rollback paths.
• Run experiments and benchmarks; summarize performance data for governance.
• Translate technical signals into governance, risk, and compliance narratives.
• Co-author playbooks, runbooks, and training materials.
