Job summary

Clear Street is seeking an experienced AI platform engineer to own the reliability and quality of an AI copilot embedded in its trading platform used by sophisticated investors. The role includes building evaluation systems for correctness, safety, latency, and regression risk across market analysis and trading workflows.

You will develop benchmarks, quality gates, and regression workflows, collaborating with engineering and product to ensure deterministic previews, auditability, and safe tool

Qualifications

• 8+ years shipping production software and strong CS fundamentals.
• Experience building evaluation frameworks, test harnesses and benchmark suites for complex systems.
• Experience with model improvement cycles: labeling, offline experiments, and deploying changes with measurable impact.
• Ability to define metrics and drive decisions from data.
• Comfort debugging model/tooling failures across stack and UX patterns for safety.
• Self-motivated and ready to tackle unfamiliar problems.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability and quality bar for an AI copilot embedded in a trading platform.
• Design and build evaluation systems measuring correctness, safety, latency, and regression risk.
• Develop and maintain benchmarks and scenario suites for market data and trading workflows.
• Build automated quality gates and regression workflows to block releases when metrics degrade.
• Partner with engineering and product to define safe tool contracts and auditable behavior.
• Own model improvement loops: data collection, labeling, and prompt/tooling changes.
• Design and operate monitoring and incident response for AI systems.
• Develop understanding of trading concepts and express them clearly to users.
