Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a senior engineer to lead AI/ML-enabled ground systems. The role applies agentic workflows to architecture challenges and data analytics across DoD contexts, delivering scalable, auditable solutions.

The candidate will drive MBSE-driven architecture, interface analysis, and integration planning, ensuring interoperability and governance across programs. A Top Secret clearance is required, with strong engineering collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in systems engineering, including ground systems architecture.
• Experience with architectural reference models/frameworks is highly desired.
• MBSE experience in DoD environments is preferred.
• Proficiency in MBSE tools is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI/ML, LLMs, agentic workflows to address ground systems challenges.
• Develop AI-enabled analyses of large engineering datasets and technical documents.
• Use agentic AI methods for architecture trade studies and risk identification.
• Improve CI/CD and DevSecOps with AI/ML automation and anomaly detection.
• Lead the Government Reference Architecture (GRA) for ground segments.
• Analyze ground segment architectures and inform GRA development.
• Support architecture development, interface analysis, and requirements traceability.
• Develop recommendations to improve data exchange and integration.
• Translate platform requirements into the GRA with interoperability focus.
• Create comprehensive GRA documentation including diagrams and specs.
• Define AI/ML governance, validation, and traceability processes.
• Evaluate new AI/ML tech for applicability to ground systems.
• Communicate findings and roadmaps to leadership and customers.
• Foster reusable AI-enabled engineering practices across programs.
