Index Analytics LLC in Baltimore seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead advanced analytics, NLP, and LLM/RAG initiatives across Medicaid and CHIP programs. The role requires a Master’s in Computer Science or Data Science (PhD preferred) and 10+ years in ML, with strong Python, NLP, and MLOps expertise.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data science or similar role.
• Strong leadership in ML/AI projects, with production deployment experience.
• Proven track record building NLP/text analytics and transformer-based models.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (SageMaker, S3, Glue) and MLOps tooling.
• Ability to translate complex analytics into actionable business insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI/ML initiatives and guide solution architecture and model selection.
• Mentor junior data scientists through code reviews and coaching.
• Build end-to-end ML pipelines on AWS for training, evaluation, and inference.
• Develop NLP solutions including text classification, entity recognition, and semantic search.
• Design RAG systems with document ingestion, embeddings, and vector search.
• Create scalable knowledge graphs for policy and data governance relationships.
• Develop prompt engineering and evaluation frameworks for LLM-powered apps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
