Job summary

CFD Research seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design, build, and deploy advanced AI/ML solutions for national security systems, spanning data processing, model development, MLOps, and integration into operational environments.

The role emphasizes NLP/LLM, computer vision, and scalable data pipelines, with a strong focus on secure, production-grade implementations and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field.
• 5+ years of experience in ML/AI development.
• Experience with GPU programming and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML models—including NLP/LLM pipelines, deep learning architectures, and computer vision—aligned to mission requirements.
• Build and optimize scalable data pipelines to support training and evaluation.
• Develop end-to-end production systems including microservices and cloud-native or edge AI services.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into operational environments with focus on security, reliability, and performance.
• Conduct model optimization, tuning, versioning, and AB testing for mission impact.
• Apply software engineering patterns (Python, Java, Scala, Rust) in microservices and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify needs and define approaches.
• Prepare technical documentation and support accreditation/security processes as required.
