Job summary

CFD Research is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to design and deploy advanced AI/ML solutions for national security mission systems. You will contribute end-to-end from data processing to model deployment, embracing NLP/LLM, CV, and hybrid AI approaches.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-grade systems, ensure security and reliability, and work onsite in the Dayton, OH area. You will be part of a mission-focused, ESOP-driven organization.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of experience developing ML models (NLP/LLM, CV, DL, or related).
• 2–6 years building AI/ML capabilities in a microservice stack.
• ACTIVE TS/SCI security clearance is required.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Experience with data processing frameworks and ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Experience configuring or deploying software systems in operational environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling, GitLab, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• U.S. Citizenship is required; polygraph willingness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI/ML models including NLP, LLM pipelines, DL architectures, and CV models.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for training, evaluation, and improvement.
• Create end-to-end production components (microservices, APIs, automation frameworks, cloud services).
• Integrate AI/ML into operational environments with focus on security and performance.
• Conduct model tuning, versioning, and A/B testing for mission impact.
• Apply software patterns (Python, Java, Scala, Rust) in distributed systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate mission needs into solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation and support accreditation in classified environments.
