Job summary

SEON is hiring a Senior AI & ML Engineer to strengthen the AML name screening capability. You will work with data scientists and engineers to improve fuzzy matching accuracy, build production-grade models, and contribute to scalable data-driven decisioning in a remote EU setting.

The role emphasizes experimentation, evaluation, and collaboration across product, engineering, and success teams to reduce false positives and missed matches while maintaining compliance and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, delivering models to production.
• Strong Python skills.
• Strong command of statistical analysis and experiment design, including offline and online evaluation of search or matching quality.

Responsibilities

• Drive modeling and experimentation for fuzzy matching and AML screening quality, turning ambiguous problems into well-defined approaches from experiment to release.
• Build evaluation datasets and metrics using offline and online signals to measure match quality and guide model changes.
• Design scoring and ML approaches that fit real-time decisioning constraints, balancing match quality, performance, cost, and operations.
• Own production quality of models and configurations, including monitoring for data drift, on-call participation, and incident follow-up.
• Investigate customer-reported issues with Product and Customer Success, prioritizing with customer input in mind.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Architects, DevOps, and Customer Success.
• Capture learnings from experiments for reuse and introduce AI tools where they add value.
• Mentor teammates and raise data science practice standards across the team.
