Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks an experienced AI/ML engineer to design and deploy AI-driven services. You will analyze data, train models, and fine‑tune architectures for NLP and perception tasks, using transformer, distillation, and reinforcement learning techniques.

You will collaborate with product management and engineering to deliver scalable AI solutions and stay ahead in AI innovation for customer experience and network automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 6+ years of software engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years.
• Experience in Python, Java or C++, with model development, training, and deployment.
• Experience building enterprise grade AI Agents and Agentic workflows.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn and data manipulation tools for AI lifecycle.
• Experience developing LLMs, NLP, or Generative AI techniques.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of AI–ML based services with product management and engineering teams.
• Analyze data, develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models to improve efficiency and automation.
• Build and fine‑tune model architectures for NLP and perception tasks with best practices.
• Apply transformer, distillation, and reinforcement learning to improve performance and scalability.
• Support training and fine‑tuning of LLMs/SLMs for domain and task applications.
