Job summary

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior AI/ML Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale AI data platforms supporting vector search, RAG, and LLM-based applications. You will partner with Cybersecurity, IT, and software teams to deliver scalable, secure AI capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities include data architecture, governance, and technical leadership to ensure reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness while communicating complex tradeoffs

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Expert proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern software engineering practices.
• Deep experience with cloud data and AI platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and MLOps.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain enterprise-scale data platforms for AI/ML, vector databases, and RAG.
• Define data quality, lineage, attribution, and explainability controls for AI systems.
• Lead AI data governance, security, and monitoring of AI data pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership in data infrastructure, balancing performance and cost.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Architects, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineers.
• Translate AI concepts into actionable implementation plans for leadership.
• Coordinate enterprise-wide AI initiatives and promote reuse of capabilities.
• Establish observability, monitoring, and alerting for reliability.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices and innovation.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech and vector/search platforms for adoption.
