Job summary

Bank of America’s GIS team seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design and deploy AI-powered security capabilities, integrating ML and LLMs into cyber defense. The role balances hands-on engineering with leadership, working across teams to advance AI-driven protection and governance.

You will lead model development, data prep, and deployment, while ensuring responsible AI and security best practices across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on ML engineering with training, evaluation, and deployment of custom models.
• Strong ML fundamentals: weights, loss, precision/recall, calibration; data issues like drift.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered apps and agentic AI systems.
• Production systems experience: data pipelines, MLOps, and cloud AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy AI-powered threat hunting and anomaly detection over large-scale security telemetry.
• Develop and operationalize custom ML models and LLM-based workflows for cybersecurity use cases.
• Match techniques to problems: deterministic automation, classical ML, or generative AI.
• Build LLM-based tooling to aid investigations and knowledge retrieval.
• Collaborate with GIS teams to identify AI-driven security enhancements.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging AI technologies for cyber threat detection and response.
• Mentor engineers and advise senior leadership on AI initiatives.
