The Vanguard Group in Lees, PA is seeking a senior leader to drive applied AI and machine learning initiatives across Investments and Finance. You will translate business problems into rigorous AI solutions and guide projects to production.

You will set scientific direction, lead a small team, ensure research quality, governance, and present findings to senior leaders. The role blends hands-on research with people leadership in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in analytical or research roles.
• Bachelor’s in Applied Math / Analytics / Statistics / Economics / CS; Master/PhD preferred.
• 2+ years leading researchers or data scientists, including performance coaching.

Responsabilités

• Lead and drive high-priority AI/ML initiatives across Investments and Finance.
• Set scientific direction with leadership; develop hypotheses and experiments.
• Manage a small multidisciplinary team; ensure research quality and governance.
• Develop standards for reproducibility, explainability, and model governance.
• Hire, evaluate, and develop team members; guide performance management.
