Job summary

Equinix is building a new generation of AI infrastructure products. We seek a Distinguished Engineer to shape multi-year architecture for AI infrastructure and lead the engineering effort across global data centers.

You will design, build, and operate APIs and services, drive reliability at scale, and mentor senior engineers while partnering with Product, Security, and GTM teams to deliver high-impact AI infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystem.
• Proficiency in Go; Python or other systems languages a plus.
• Deep experience designing APIs and microservices architectures.
• Solid background in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE incl. CI/CD, IaC, observability.
• Experience with AI/ML inference or strong interest to grow expertise.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals in multi-site, multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the multi-year technical vision and reference architecture for AI infrastructure across Equinix, aligning product, platform, and network strategy.
• Mentor and develop Senior Principal and Principal Engineers, shaping the technical talent bar.
• Design, build, and operate infrastructure, APIs, and services used by customers to run AI workloads.
• Incubate and launch zero-to-one products, partnering with Product Management to shape MVPs.
• Architect and run platforms that scale across Equinix's data centers, applying DevOps/SRE practices for reliability.
• Integrate AI infrastructure with Equinix Fabric and other interconnection products for low-latency connectivity.
