Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. is seeking a senior AI infrastructure engineer to own the AI platform hosting, both on-prem and in a secure cloud environment. You will lead security accreditation efforts, implement observability, and build the tooling used by the wider workforce.

You will work in a hybrid role with visibility to senior leadership and cross-functional AI leads, contributing end-to-end ownership from platform to deployment across our AIS function.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure, platform, or SRE with 3+ years in MLOps.
• Hands-on record of standing up model-serving in production.
• Experience with standup from first server and long-lived platforms.
• Server-level admin and security engineering for self-hosted and air-gapped systems.
• Cloud development capability; fluent with open-weight models.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/CS/Data Science or related field.
• Five years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Proficient technical expertise with demonstrated application.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Stand up local AI hosting: model serving and admin for on-prem environments.
• Deploy on the secure cloud: develop AI in GCC High as a developer.
• Own security and accreditation engineering to achieve ATO.
• Instrument everything you run with tracing and observability.
• Build shared AI platform tooling and self-serve tools.
• Ship only what’s been cleared; you deploy, others gate quality.
