Hyve Solutions in Fremont, CA seeks a Senior Hardware Engineering Manager – AI Systems to lead a multidisciplinary hardware team driving GPU and compute server platforms from architecture to mass production.

You will own and deliver EVT, DVT, and PVT milestones, mentor engineers, and coordinate across US and Taiwan teams to ensure schedule and quality. This hands‑on leadership role blends design oversight with people management.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 12+ years of hardware engineering experience, with at least 3 years directly managing hardware engineers and delivering server/GPU platforms into high‑volume production.
• Technical breadth: Board design, high‑speed interfaces (PCIe Gen5/Gen6, CXL, NVLink, Ethernet), power delivery networks, thermal design (air and liquid), and firmware.
• Program management: Ownership of multiple concurrent platform programs through EVT, DVT, and PVT, including schedule, risk, and resource planning.
• Leadership: Track record of attracting, developing, and retaining engineering talent in a fast‑growing org.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present engineering decisions to customers and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Team leadership: Manage and grow a team across Fremont and Portland, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance development.
• Program execution: Drive GPU and compute server programs from architecture through EVT, DVT, PVT, to mass production, managing schedule and resources.
• Technical oversight: Provide hands‑on direction across schematic, layout, SI/PI, thermal, power, and firmware deliverables; guide trade‑offs and root‑cause analysis.
• Design review discipline: Run design reviews and gate processes per DR0.1–DR1.0 and improve first‑pass yield and time‑to‑market.
• Customer engagement: Act as engineering contact for Hyperscaler partners, communicating risks and commitments clearly.
• Cross‑geo collaboration: Partner with Taiwan teams to ensure global alignment and manufacturability.
• Production ramp support: Scale from prototype to high‑volume production with rapid issue triage and corrective action.
