Job summary

Meta Reality Labs seeks a principal AI Systems Engineer to define hardware architecture strategy for on-device AI inference and training across VR/AR and wearables. You will shape silicon, memory, interconnect, ISP, and camera pipelines to enable real-time perception and immersive experiences.

You will lead multi-team collaborations on architecture; drive performance targets, models, and co-design with silicon and ML platforms to deliver efficient AI systems across mixed reality devices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in hardware systems architecture, with AI/imaging focus.
• Experience defining SoC or system-level AI architectures.
• Experience with on-device AI inference/training workloads.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-generation hardware architecture strategy for AI inference and training across VR, AR and wearables.
• Lead architectural exploration across compute, memory, interconnect, and power for on-device AI workloads.
• Architect end-to-end camera and imaging pipelines, including ISP integration and real-time processing for CV/perception.
• Drive hardware-software co-design with silicon, firmware, camera systems, and ML platform teams to optimize performance.
• Define architectural requirements for camera subsystems including multi-camera synchronization and depth sensing.
• Develop system performance models and simulation frameworks to evaluate architectural decisions.
• Communicate architectural vision and technical rationale to executives and stakeholders.
