Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Policy Developer to translate technical safety insights into policy proposals and work with policy colleagues as well as research, alignment, safety, and legal teams to bridge technical detail and policy development.

You will help develop technical safety best practices, represent Anthropic in standards groups, review AI safety bills, and contribute analysis across pacing workstreams to address AI R&D challenges.

Qualifications

• Fluent understanding of frontier AI safety and governance.
• Ability to read and comment on legislative text.
• Experience translating technical topics into policy proposals.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical safety best practices for frontier development with policy and research teams.
• Represent Anthropic in cross-lab standards discussions.
• Review and comment on AI safety bills at federal, state, and global levels.
• Collaborate with external affairs to strengthen legislative framework.
• Provide research and policy proposals addressing AI R&D acceleration.
• Engage with external AI safety and governance communities.
• Draft memos and briefings to align leadership decisions.
