Capital One is seeking an Applied Researcher 4 (AI Foundations, VLM Customization) in Cambridge, MA. You will work with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to develop AI-powered banking experiences using PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, and Lightning.

You will build foundation models, run end-to-end experiments, and translate research outcomes into business value while collaborating with senior researchers on publications and internal reports.

Formación

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related field, or MS with 2 years of applied research.
• Strong foundations in AI and ML with demonstrated research output or publications.
• Experience delivering AI models and libraries at scale, with open-source contributions.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products transforming customer interactions.
• Build AI foundation models from design through training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Translate complex research into tangible business goals for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with senior researchers to prepare internal reports or conference submissions.
