Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with a strategic enterprise customer, designing, building, deploying, and running AI-powered production systems alongside the customer team.

You will own outcomes end-to-end, ship production-grade software, and create reusable architectures that scale the FDE practice. A travel requirement of 30–50% is expected as part of customer delivery.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience.
5+ years in programming with at least one language.
Experience leading design or architecture of systems (patterns, reliability, scaling).
Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.
Experience communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience leading AI deployment or development at production scale.

Responsibilities

Embed within customer engineering teams and translate business problems into AI-enabled production systems.
Build production-grade software powering AI and agentic workflows; optimize latency, reliability, security.
Own production from design to rollout; troubleshoot incidents across AI models and pipelines.
Accelerate customer transformation by codifying reusable patterns and reference architectures.
Mentor engineers and contribute to AWS engineering best practices for AI and forward deployment.
