Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to guide enterprise modernization across cloud, data, and AI. This on-site Salt Lake City role partners with engineering, product, security, and data teams to define target architectures, standards, and roadmaps, enabling scalable, secure delivery.

You will lead APIs, microservices, messaging, and enterprise integration efforts while aligning with governance and security requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive technology experience in complex environments.
• 3–5+ years in architecture leadership (enterprise, platform, or solution architecture).
• Strong experience with cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
• Deep practical knowledge of distributed systems, including microservices, APIs, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
• Familiarity with security and compliance concepts for enterprise platforms (identity, access, encryption, auditability).
• Ability to communicate architecture decisions clearly to technical teams and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve target architecture and roadmaps for modern cloud-based ecosystems.
• Provide hands-on architecture leadership across APIs, microservices, messaging, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Establish pragmatic patterns for service boundaries, domain ownership, events, data exchange, and integration.
• Guide teams through tradeoffs (build vs buy, synchronous vs asynchronous, platform vs custom) and ensure scalability, resilience, and observability.
• Collaborate with product, security, and data teams to incorporate AI capabilities into platforms and workflows.
• Review designs and unblock complex technical decisions to accelerate delivery.
