Rad AI is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager in San Francisco to lead a core product engineering team, shaping technical direction and delivering reliable healthcare AI software. You will hire, mentor, and scale engineers while driving cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Clinical teams.

The role focuses on end-to-end ownership, architectural decisions, and delivering measurable impact through robust systems.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of experience managing software engineers who ship and operate production software at scale
• Hands-on engineering background; comfortable going deep technically
• Experience leading teams building production web or cloud apps in modern stacks (Python, TS/JS, React)
• Excellent execution and stakeholder management: set priorities, navigate tradeoffs, align teams
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical audiences with influence without formal authority
• Pragmatic, outcomes-oriented mindset balancing ideal architecture with real-world constraints
• Genuine enjoyment of building and scaling healthy engineering teams: hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end execution on your team’s roadmap from planning to rollout
• Raise the technical bar by guiding architecture and design decisions
• Partner with Product, Implementations, Design, Clinical, Customer Success, and GTM to translate problems into engineering work
• Drive continuous improvement across planning, estimation, code review, incident response, on-call, and docs
• Use data and metrics to drive decisions and measure reliability, performance, and delivery health
• Hire exceptional engineers and foster a culture of psychological safety, ownership, and learning
