Job summary

HumanSignal in San Francisco is seeking an Engineering Manager who can both lead a growing team of engineers and stay hands-on to guide architectural decisions. You will own delivery against a roadmap, balance speed with quality, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

You’ll hire and mentor engineers, provide clear feedback, manage performance and promotions, and collaborate with product and services teams to turn strategy into shipped software on a reliable cadence.

Qualifications

• Managed engineers for at least a couple of years.
• Strong engineering background with sound architectural judgement.
• Experience shipping software at a startup.
• Nice to have ML tooling, data platforms, or evaluation systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivery planning, scoping, and shipping quality software to a roadmap.
• Define team structure, hire, give feedback, and manage promotions.
• Address escalations and unblock blockers to ensure on-time releases.
