Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 3 in New York to build and scale responsible AI systems that power banking experiences. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to deliver AI-powered products used by millions of customers.

The role requires strong software engineering and ML capabilities, experience deploying AI services, and a passion for safe, scalable solutions. You will mentor others and influence the technical roadmap across Capital One's AI platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE/CE or related field plus at least 3 years of AI/ML experience, or Master's plus 1 year.
At least 3 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech stacks (e.g., AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs).
Invent and apply foundation model optimization techniques for performance and cost.
Contribute to the AI systems roadmap and governance for production-grade systems.
Mentor junior AI engineers and promote engineering excellence.
