Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer to lead hands-on AI initiatives within its Independent Risk organization. You will set technical direction, drive execution, and deliver production‑level AI solutions across risk management and compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years software development experience with 3+ years deploying production AI applications

Responsibilities

• Define long-term technical architecture for a next-gen AI platform
• Architect and standardize graph-based LLM orchestration
• Develop robust, persistent agent memory and state management
• Pioneer parameter-efficient fine-tuning (PEFT) and model compression
• Support unified model serving infrastructure for high-throughput, low-latency inference
• Define AI observability, tracing and testing frameworks for production systems
• Mentor senior and junior AI engineers
• Coordinate cross-functional roadmaps and timely deliveries
• Stay up-to-date with GenAI, LLMs, and NLP trends in banking
