Motion Recruitment in Waltham, MA is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and scale AI-powered customer experiences, focusing on productionizing ML and LLMs in cloud environments.

You will own AI features from concept through deployment, collaborating with product and engineering teams to ensure performance, scalability, and observability across AI-driven services. The hybrid role requires three days on-site weekly in the Greater Boston area.

Qualifications

• 4+ years backend engineering with Python/Go/Java or similar languages.
• 4+ years deploying ML/LLMs into production.
• Experience building APIs, microservices.
• Strong distributed systems and high-performance design.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and modern architecture patterns.
• Experience evaluating AI/ML model performance with metrics.
• Observability, monitoring, and production support practices.
• Troubleshooting across model serving, backend systems, and AI workflows.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Thrives in fast-paced and evolving environments.

Responsibilities

• 100% Hands On.
• Design and develop backend systems powering AI-driven products and services.
• Integrate ML and LLM models into production applications with focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Own AI capabilities from architecture through deployment.
• Build, maintain, and improve AI quality, evaluation, and monitoring frameworks.
• Develop and support APIs, microservices, and real-time serving infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across backend components, model serving layers, and AI workflows.
• Partner with product managers and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and system design initiatives.
• Drive technical innovation and identify opportunities to improve AI platform capabilities.
