Job summary

Pulley, a Seattle-area company, is hiring a senior AI engineer to build the intelligent permitting product that turns messy city rules and documents into fast, structured outputs. You will own LLM-powered features end-to-end, from user conversations to production deployment, and shape how the product interacts with customers across multiple jurisdictions.

You will drive evaluation, observability, and agent-driven workflows while mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering with production LLM/ML systems
• Own an LLM-powered product surface end-to-end, including data quality, eval, cost and latency
• Deep hands-on experience with large language models in production: prompting, retrieval, extraction, agents
• Experience designing evals and making LLM-powered features reliable in production
• Real experience building with AI coding agents and shipping agent-driven implementations

Responsibilities

• Own AI-powered features end-to-end—from user interactions to production deployment.
• Turn unstructured permitting documents and city rules into structured, reliable outputs.
• Build evaluation and observability foundations for LLM-powered features.
• Work with AI agents as a daily practice, ensuring high velocity with quality.
• Make technical and product decisions impacting customers and projects.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for LLM-related engineering practices
