American Express is seeking a Senior AI Engineer II to serve as a Forward Deployed Engineer for enterprise AI platform initiatives. This onsite role in New York, NY will partner with business and engineering teams to identify high-value use cases and drive generative AI concepts from proof of value to adoption and long-term ownership, with emphasis on security and responsible AI.

Responsibilities include transforming opportunities into durable, measurable ways of working while balancing

Competenze

• 5+ years delivering software or digital products in an engineering capacity.
• Ambiguous problems -> discovery to measurable value.
• Experience using coding agents in a structured workflow.
• Software engineering fluency for apps, services, or prototypes.
• Experience in mobile, web, backend, APIs, distributed systems, platform engineering, or cloud-native development.
• Reason about systems end-to-end; link decisions to business outcomes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills; influence without authority.
• Define longer-term direction and sequence incremental solutions.
