Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead AI Engineer (AI Foundations) to build responsible AI systems powering real-time, personalized banking experiences. You will design, deploy, and optimize AI software components across a broad tech stack.

You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to scale foundation models, guardrails, and observability, driving impactful technical roadmap decisions and delivering high-performance AI infrastructure for millions of customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/AI or related field with 4+ years of AI/ML development or Master's with 2+ years.
4+ years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and AI services.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components (foundation model training, LLM inference, guardrails, evaluation).
Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies and optimize performance, latency, and cost.
Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
