Job summary

Lyft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to shape a unified risk platform for claims management. You will lead architecture, design, and implementation of end-to-end solutions powering the insurance platform with AI-driven innovations.

You will collaborate across Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Claim Operations to drive scalable, reliable services and strong incident response. The role promotes in-office hybrid work in Seattle.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years building scalable distributed systems with high availability and reliability.
• Experience with AI features using multimodal LLMs, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI frameworks.
• Proven ability to build end-to-end products collaborating with Backend, Frontend, Data Engineering, Data Science, and Product teams.
• Strong ability to reason about design tradeoffs, architecture, and operational cost.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term technical roadmap for claims management systems.
• Provide architectural leadership and guide design across multiple teams.
• Develop AI automation solutions to improve claim handling workflows.
• Deliver scalable, reliable, well-tested solutions and code.
• Collaborate with Lyft teams and insurance partners for scalable integrations.
• Lead code reviews, design reviews, and incident triage.
