Job summary

QAD is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the AI Centre of Excellence, turning prioritized workflows into production-grade AI systems. This applied engineering role emphasizes building reusable components, patterns, and scalable interfaces for internal and partner teams.

You will own end-to-end AI workflows, maintain a shared component library, and manage infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and live-ops. The role requires strong Python, cloud, and orchestration expertise.

Job description

• You will be the primary builder in the AI Centre of Excellence, turning prioritized workflows into production-grade AI systems.
• This is an applied engineering role with high leverage, building reusable components and patterns for internal and partner teams.

What You'll Do:

• Build end-to-end AI and agentic workflows, including orchestration, retrieval, evaluation, and production engineering.
• Design and maintain the shared component library with SDKs, templates, and documentation.
• Own infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and operational support for live workflows.

What We're Looking For:

• 6+ years of professional software engineering, including 2+ years building production LLM systems.
• Excellent Python and working competence in another language, with strong AWS/GCP experience.
• Proven retrieval and agent orchestration experience, plus evaluation rigor and cost/latency awareness.

What Success Looks Like:

• In 3 months: first workflow in production with evaluation harness and baseline engineering standards.
• In 6 months: reusable library in use, multiple workflows live with instrumented quality and cost.
• In 12 months: lower build costs per workflow, operable production estate, and partner code meeting your standards.
