Tono is building autonomous specialty medicine clinics with real-time care for patients anywhere. You will design, build, and ship AI agents that handle clinical and operational tasks inside a TypeScript codebase, working alongside doctors and care coordinators.

We focus on reliability with structured outputs, evaluation loops, and monitoring, while expanding capabilities with durable workflows and tool-calling strategies. Join a small, mission-driven team in NYC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience using TypeScript across frontend and backend.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM-powered agents in production.
• Experience designing evals: test sets, LLM-as-judge, regression suites.

Responsabilités

• Own the AI agents that run Tono's clinic end to end and ship reliable automation.
• Design and implement evaluation datasets and prompts to prevent regressions.
• Build self-improving loops where clinician feedback updates prompts, retrieval, and fine-tuning.
• Add guardrails, human-in-the-loop reviews, and safe fallbacks for graceful failures.
• Investigate issues via traces, logs and replay to improve agent performance.
