Job summary

LCG is seeking an AI Engineer to support our NIH client in advancing AI-driven modernization across software development, research enablement, and enterprise operations, onsite in Rockville, MD.

You will implement AI-assisted development capabilities, index codebases, and integrate AI into workflows, collaborating with DevSecOps, developers, and stakeholders to scale AI use cases in line with the modernization roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software or data engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML or Generative AI tools (OpenAI, Copilot).
• Strong programming in Python, Java, or .NET.
• Experience with APIs and integrating third-party platforms.
• Familiarity with SDLC and modern software practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement and operationalize AI-assisted development tools across engineering teams.
• Index repositories to enable natural language queries across legacy systems.
• Support AI-driven code refactoring, modernization, and debt reduction in Java/.NET apps.
• Design and implement AI-driven solutions such as code analysis, requirements extraction, test generation, and knowledge bots.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps and stakeholders to scale AI use cases aligned with modernization roadmap.
