Job summary

People in AI, an early Applied AI engineering team in New York City, seeks a senior IC to own and ship production-grade agentic systems. You will work across software, applied AI, and infrastructure to turn evolving capabilities into reliable customer software.

You’ll collaborate with product, domain experts, and customers to define architectures, implement end-to-end features, and drive high-impact outcomes in a small, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to own and ship production systems.
• Deep understanding of architecture, data flows, reliability and production failure modes.
• Backend or backend-leaning full-stack experience to deliver end-to-end features.
• Hands-on understanding of AI and agentic systems.

Responsibilities

• Build customer-facing agentic product experiences that simplify complex, multi-step operational workflows.
• Design and expand systems that allow agents to safely interact with structured data and execute actions.
• Develop end-to-end AI workflows that replace repetitive manual processes.
• Productionize existing AI capabilities and improve reliability, monitoring and failure handling.
• Develop evaluation tooling and help define engineering standards for high-quality agentic systems.
• Partner with product, engineers, domain experts, and customers to identify where AI adds meaningful value.
• Own ambiguous projects from problem definition through architecture, implementation, deployment and iteration.
