Job summary

Brobston Group is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the design and delivery of production-ready agentic AI solutions for retail operations. You will partner with business and technology teams to turn complex problems into measurable outcomes while balancing user experience, quality, scalability, and cost.

The role requires expertise in orchestration, tool pipelines, memory management, and enterprise integrations, with a focus on safety, observability, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and delivering complex, scalable distributed systems.
• Production experience with LLMs, foundation model APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, embedding-based search, AI agents, and agentic workflows.
• Experience with context engineering, evaluation frameworks, safety guardrails, agent memory and state, and agentic frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and cloud-native development on AWS and/or GCP; experience working across technical and business teams.
• Strong communication, product judgment, and experience with agile development; a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic solutions, including orchestration, tool-use pipelines, enterprise integrations, context engineering, and memory management.
• Develop evaluations, safety guardrails, observability, and production metrics for reliability, accuracy, performance, cost, and security.
• Make and communicate technical trade-offs, lead design and code reviews, and ensure solutions meet engineering and security standards.
• Collaborate with product, business, infrastructure, and security stakeholders; mentor junior engineers and participate in hiring.
