Job summary

Lendistry is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to deliver the AI strategy with hands-on ownership of end-to-end AI features — from design through production operation — and help set technical direction for engineers building alongside you. You will lead agentic workflows, document intelligence, retrieval systems, and borrower‑facing AI experiences, and mentor junior engineers on the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with focus on production ML systems.
• 3+ years building and shipping LLM-powered applications in production.
• Strong Python (production-grade, type-safe data modeling).
• Experience with major LLM providers and tool calling (e.g., OpenAI, Bedrock, Claude).
• Design and operate end-to-end RAG systems with embeddings and vector databases.
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews in a fast-moving fintech environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end LLM features from requirements to production operation across origination, underwriting, servicing, and borrower experience.
• Lead design of agentic workflows where LLMs call tools, reason, and manage multi-step tasks with safeguards.
• Maintain and improve prompt pipelines, retrieval systems, and document intelligence stacks.
• Develop and tune RAG pipelines, including chunking, embeddings, and re-ranking for financial documents.
• Collaborate with product, credit, underwriting, and platform engineering to deliver reliable AI features.
• Mentor junior AI engineers and lead design reviews and code reviews.
