Johnson Service Group, Inc. is hiring a contract Senior AI Engineer to help build and scale enterprise AI platforms in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This hybrid role is based in Boston, MA with 3 days per week on site, supporting client teams across the continental US.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Services and Azure AI Foundry.
• Strong Azure AI Search experience including hybrid, semantic, vector search, skillsets, and indexers.
• Experience building agentic AI solutions with LangChain and LangGraph, including agent orchestration.
• Enterprise RAG development and AI platform governance experience.
• Experience with Azure Bot Service, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Azure experience with Azure Blob Storage, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Build Azure AI Foundry capabilities (models, prompts, tools, orchestration, observability, governance).
• Develop agentic systems using LangChain and LangGraph with guardrails, retries, policy-driven execution.
• Create Enterprise RAG solutions with Azure AI Search and Embeddings.
• Design ingestion pipelines and integrate with SharePoint and Azure DevOps Wiki.
• Deliver AI experiences across Azure Bot Service, Teams, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Apply security and governance practices for production AI including Responsible AI, PII filtering, and RBAC.

What you'll build

• Azure AI Foundry capabilities including models, prompts, tools, orchestration, observability, and governance.
• Agentic systems using LangChain and LangGraph, with guardrails, retries, and policy-driven execution.
• Enterprise RAG solutions with Azure AI Search and Azure AI Embeddings.
• Automated ingestion pipelines and integration with enterprise knowledge sources such as SharePoint and Azure DevOps Wiki.
• AI experiences across Azure Bot Service, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Engineering with enterprise controls

You'll implement security and governance practices for production AI, including Responsible AI, PII filtering, prompt governance, RBAC, and Key Vault controls. You'll also apply CI/CD and DevOps practices for AI agents, prompts, skillsets, and indexes.

How you'll work with teams

This role includes leading and mentoring engineers, alongside close collaboration with architecture, security, and compliance teams.

• Strong Python development experience, including Poetry.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Services and Azure AI Foundry.
• Strong Azure AI Search experience, including hybrid, semantic, vector search, skillsets, and indexers.
• Experience building agentic AI solutions with LangChain and LangGraph, including agent orchestration.
• Enterprise RAG development and AI platform governance experience.
• Experience with Azure Bot Service, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Azure experience with Azure Blob Storage, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow Integration Hub experience.
• Experience with agent observability, evaluation, and trace tooling.
• Experience operating AI systems at enterprise scale.

Compensation: USD $55-$70 per hour (dependent on experience). This is a contract position.
