Job summary

Mindlance is seeking an AI Engineer in Washington, DC to design and implement RAG-based AI solutions using Python, MCP and APIs. You will work across Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search to deliver production-grade chat and tooling within enterprise environments.

The role requires 3-5 years of software development experience, strong Python skills, hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI and Azure AI/Search, and familiarity with agent frameworks and MCP patterns.

Role: AI Engineer
Location: Washington, DC (20433)
Duration: 6 Months – Long Term
Hybrid Onsite: 4 days per week from Day 1, with a full transition to 100% onsite anticipated soon
Job Description:
Seeking an AI Engineer with strong expertise in Python, APIs, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and RAG-based solutions. The role centers on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, agentic AI (including Azure AI Agent Service and Model Context Protocol), and enterprise-grade service delivery across Azure and AWS.

• Strong Python development experience
• Hands-on with RAG (chunking, embeddings, retrieval, evaluation)
• Experience with MCP/tool integration & API development
• Azure OpenAI & Azure AI Search (vector/hybrid search)
• Building secure, production-grade AI/chatbot solutions

Experience:

• 3-5 years total software development experience.
