Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking a senior individual contributor to lead a core engineering domain within a fintech company building AI-powered banking experiences. You will set technical direction while staying hands-on and help deliver systems supporting the company’s key products.

Responsibilities include owning architecture and standards, coding production systems, and partnering with founders to tie tech decisions to business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of engineering experience with senior individual contributor leadership at Principal, Distinguished, Staff, or Chief Engineer level.
• Strong system design, architecture review, and hands-on coding skills, with experience taking products from 0 to 1 and owning core systems in production at scale.
• Daily, deep use of frontier AI models and development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
• Engineering fundamentals, ideally including Node.js, React, and Python.
• Experience at growth-stage startups and large technology companies; a technical founder or founding engineer background is a plus.
• Background in conversational AI, voice AI, agentic systems, fintech, banking, or regulated financial services is valued.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related STEM field.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, engineering standards, and outcomes for a core technical domain.
• Design and build production systems alongside engineers, contributing code and setting a high technical bar.
• Partner with founders and product leadership to connect technical decisions with measurable business outcomes.
• Guide engineers and technical leads across your domain while continuing to work as an individual contributor.
• Review work and support quality, reliability, and delivery across engineering teams.
• Promote AI-native development practices using frontier models and tools.
• Build systems across AI runtimes, agents, contact center experiences, integrations, data platforms, and consumer banking.
