Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for the Amazon Seller Assistant team in Seattle. The role centers on designing and building agentic software that helps millions of sellers by anticipating needs and taking actions on their behalf.

You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver production-grade capabilities at scale. You will mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and drive the adoption of best practices

Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of agentic software systems across the full lifecycle - from working backwards on a seller problem through technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
Own your team's architectural direction for multi-agent services, influence technical decisions in dependent systems, and guide technology choices by evaluating tradeoffs in scalability, extensibility, performance, and security.
Collaborate with applied scientists, partner engineering teams, and product managers to translate GenAI research into reliable, production-grade seller-facing features.
Mentor and coach multiple engineers, drive adoption of engineering best practices, and contribute to team growth through recruiting, technical assessments, and career guidance.
Evaluate when and how to integrate generative AI tooling into development workflows, refine model outputs using responsible practices, and apply well-chosen data structures and algorithms to solve problems efficiently.
