Amazon is seeking a world-class Senior Data Scientist to define and build the next generation of Amazon Seller Assistant. You will partner with top-tier scientists, engineers and product teams to ship production-grade agentic capabilities at scale, owning your problem space end-to-end from a crisp customer insight to a shipped product used by millions of sellers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (SQL) and scripting languages (Python) or statistical software (R/SAS/Matlab).
  • 4+ years of data scientist experience.
  • Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with Agentic AI systems (onboarding tools, evaluation metrics, scaling AI agent workflows).
  • Leadership and mentorship on a data science team (preferred).
  • Experience managing data pipelines (preferred).
  • 2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability leveraging generative AI tools to enhance workflow and examine AI outputs critically (preferred).
  • Experience identifying opportunities to integrate AI solutions into products and services to drive business value (preferred).

We are seeking a world-class Senior Data Scientist to help define and build the next generation of Amazon Seller Assistant. Key job responsibilities
  • Own the science vision, strategy, and roadmap for a key Seller Assistant capability area.
  • Define and ship agentic experiences — sub-agent onboarding, tool onboarding, evaluations— that solve hard seller problems at scale.
  • Partner with scientists and engineers to translate frontier AI research into production-grade features sellers trust and depend on.
  • Design rigorous evaluation frameworks — automated and human-in-the-loop — to measure agent quality, accuracy, and business impact.
  • Deep-dive into seller data, identify unmet needs, and write compelling PRFAQs that set the direction for your team.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across science, engineering, UX, and business teams to deliver with speed and quality.
About The Team

Amazon Seller Assistant team operates at the very frontier of agentic AI and agentic commerce — not as a research group, but as a team shipping production-grade, multi-agent systems used by millions of sellers worldwide. Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
  • 4+ years of data scientist experience
  • Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience working with Agentic AI systems (e.g., onboarding tools, evaluation metrics, or scaling AI agent workflows)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
  • Experience managing data pipelines
  • 2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity, with the ability to craft effective prompts and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs in a professional setting
  • Experience identifying opportunities to integrate AI solutions into products and services to drive business value

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
