Job summary

Vanguard is seeking an expert-level IT technical lead to drive secure, cloud-native platform services on AWS and to expand AI-enabled security testing capabilities across our DevSecOps pipelines.

You will collaborate with architects, SAEP, ADAPT, IAM, and other teams to deliver scalable security tooling, SAST/SCA, container security, and API security testing, while mentoring engineers and shaping technical direction.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering or platform engineering experience with 8+ years hands-on development.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent; graduate degree preferred.
• Strong AWS cloud and cloud-native architecture expertise.
• Proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript; Python valuable for AI/LLM work.

Responsibilities

• Lead secure, cloud-native platform services on AWS (IAM, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFormation).
• Integrate security scanners into SDLC and translate findings into controls.
• Partner on AI scanning capabilities and the AppSec AI Harness from PoC to production.
• Design APIs and CI/CD capabilities enabling reliable, scalable security testing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across DevSecOps and security teams.
