Job summary

The Vanguard Group is seeking an accomplished software security and platform engineering leader to architect and deliver cloud-native security tooling at scale. You will help drive AI-enabled AppSec capabilities, integrate SAST/SCA across SDLC pipelines, and orchestrate security testing across Vanguard's software supply chain.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or DevSecOps experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent; graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of secure, cloud-native platform services on AWS (IAM, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, RDS, S3, CloudFormation).
• Integrate security scanning into SDLC pipelines, onboarding scanners, normalizing findings, and translating results into security controls.
• Collaborate on AI scanning capabilities and the AppSec AI Harness from PoC to production.
• Design integration patterns between AI and security orchestration, including ingestion of findings and validation of AI remediation.
• Develop APIs, event-driven integrations, automation services, and CI/CD capabilities for scalable security testing.
• Improve platform reliability and scalability through automation, observability, and self-service capabilities.
• Mentor engineers and promote secure development practices across the SDLC.
