Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering, security engineering, or security automation with production code.
• Solid Python, TypeScript or similar language for production-quality services.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production services at scale with observability and reliability metrics.
• Strong systems-design judgment for when to build vs. integrate or automate.
• Fundamentals in web, application and edge security and threat protection strategies.
• Experience with AI/LLM-assisted systems and evaluation, regression testing, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Ability to work independently on unstructured problems with risk-based decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication to explain complex technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop production-ready automation and AI-supported systems for web and edge security across WAF/CDN platforms.
• Transform repetitive security processes into scalable services, APIs, pipelines, and self-service options for product teams.
• Develop vulnerability-response automation with AI-assisted analysis and WAF rule creation, validation, testing, and deployment.
• Build automation around vulnerability intelligence, policy lifecycle, and measurement of control effectiveness.
• Create abstractions and integrations to reduce operational complexity across multiple WAF vendors.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for AI-assisted security workflows, measuring correctness and drift.
• Collaborate with security architects and product teams to translate security requirements into reusable engineering capabilities.
• Raise engineering standards through architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability, and mentorship.
• Identify where AI and automation improve team effectiveness while preserving human security judgment.
