Job summary

Work Truck Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to own end-to-end test automation. Remote (U.S.-based) with preference for CA, TX and FL.

You will shape the Playwright-based framework, mentor QA engineers, and drive AI-assisted testing practices across product teams. You bring 7+ years in test automation, strong Playwright/TypeScript experience, and a track record of building scalable automation, collaborating with developers, and delivering reliable test

Qualifications

• 7+ years in test automation or software engineering in test.
• Expert in Playwright with TS: fixtures, page objects, network interception, parallel runs.
• Judgment about test value: know when to test and when to skip.
• Hands-on AI experience: using AI coding agents and prompts.
• Track record mentoring test engineers.
• Strong multilingual coding ability in JS/TS and at least one backend language.
• Experience API and data testing; REST APIs and SQL test data.
• CI/CD experience with pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own the test automation strategy across unit, API, and end-to-end layers.
• Define test value bars: risk, cost, maintainability, and retire tests that no longer add value.
• Lead architecture of TypeScript Playwright framework: page objects, fixtures, data, environment handling.
• Use AI to build, expand, and maintain tests; ensure AI-generated tests reflect real behavior.
• Explore agentic testing approaches and pilot new testing methods.
• Mentor QA team through pairing, reviews, and hands-on teaching.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable feedback.
• Collaborate with developers to keep UI tests stable amidst product changes.
• Communicate clearly with a distributed team and non-technical partners.
