Job summary

Salesforce is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Event Monitoring team in San Francisco, driving a major initiative that defines architecture, data models, and customer experience. You will work with PMs on cross-functional architectural decisions, mentor peers, and shape the team’s long-term direction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership or principal role.
• Hands-on with observability, telemetry pipelines, or incident response systems.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry ecosystem and PromQL.
• Strong Java API design and full-stack capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and end-to-end delivery of features from architecture to production.
• Mentor engineers and shape engineering culture as the team scales.
• Collaborate with Product Management on cross-functional architectural decisions.
• Drive data ingestion, query performance, and cost boundaries with partners.
• Define integration of Unified Observability with existing telemetry sources.
• Model AI-assisted engineering practices and code-review discipline.
